one of my members just made a new set of custom smileys and I want to add them as a new set of smileys to the forum and make them the default set for the current default skin. does anybody know how to do this?

using version 2.0 rc 3.

Believe it, or not...

Admin>Smileys and Message Icons>[New smiley Set].

To make the set the default, click "Modify", beside the set, then check "Default Smiley Set:" on the page that opens.

Once they are correctly added to your files, which can usually be done using the package manager.

Package manager won't install his member's smiley set, anyway, because it's not in a package, with all the extra files that would entail.

Much easier to upload them all with FTP, creating a directory for the set, first.

Yeah, sorry I didn't really read his post, was just tryin' to add in any instructions I thought may be missing.

I'd never install smileys as a package, myself.

MUCH easier to do it, manually, for me.

Easier to make sure that the filenames in each set match, too, that way.

I end up doin' a lot of things myself which ended up bein' a bad thing with the new update.  For me to update to RC4 now would be a ton of work redoing MODs because I didn't create them to work with the package manager.  Something tells me I'll be on RC3 for a while.

I'm still on v1.1.12 and I won't be moving to v2, even when it's finished.

I much prefer v1.1.12, myself and so do my members, thankfully. ;)

Thanks for the help guys. Yeah I just have the smileys downloaded individually as a bunch of gifs. I'd like to do it manually; packages are a minor nightmare for me a lot of the time XD Would any of you happen to know where on Cpanel I'd place the smileys--as in, what directory on my database?

Paul_Pauline

I believe all you need to do is create a sub directory inside the "smileys" directory, call it whatever, and stick your new smileys in it.

groovystar did you get the smileys to work?

I have marked this as solved until you update us on this request.
