Cant get the smileys removed/installed

I'm running SMF2.0 RC1.2, had a smiley package which worked and removed it to install another smiley package, only the new smileys don't show, but the text of the old smileys is still there. Have no idea what's going on, I'm a rookie. Can someone guide me through?

Hey there! Sorry for such a long delay with no replies. I would suggest upgrading to SMF 2.0 RC4 and see if your problems clear up. A ton of bugs have been fixed since SMF 2.0 RC1.2.
