connection error message

Hi to you all!!

Great to be here

i changed the cmodd's to 777 as prescribed, uploaded the changes, deleted install.php, but when i try to go to the forum, which i assumed was index.php i get (although nothing else connected)

Sounds like your settings.php file does not correctly hold your database info. Do you have a backup? Normally a settings_bak.php file is created that holds your settings before you made changes.

You could try to rename your settings_bak to settings.php assuming that your old backup is correct of course! Otherwise download and install the upgrade package and run upgrade.php.

Read your steps and  forced top download upgrade...

same  error message

btw to run upgrade.php i uploaded all the upgrade to server and double clk just this file

You don't "double-click" the file... you point your browser to it - http://www.yoursite.com/board/upgrade.php

Double-check that the database settings in Settings.php are correct.
