New Topic button in thread view [SMF 2.0 RC4]

I'm trying to add a New Topic button to the thread view. Adding it to the $normal_buttons array was easy, but apparently I cannot check for can_post_new in Display.template.php?

Have you tried adding the permission in Display.php?

Don't know if it will work but this is from MessageIndex.php.

Add it before or after the following in Display.php.

If that don't work there's a mod for 1.1.x which does the same. See how it's done there.

Thank you, that worked.

However I didn't want to add the code in Display.php because it gets overwritten with every update.
So instead I added it to Display.Template.php. Works just as well.
