Install locally??

Hi! Im trying to install SMF 1.0.5 locally, ain´t going that well. Keep getting this error message:
Table '******_******.smf_settings' doesn't exist.

I have setup a DB, ran repair _settings.php and updated the settings, but no luck. Even tried repair _paths.php. What am I doing wrong. It´s an fresh installation. CHMOD set to 777 all files and directories. Ive got two Mambosites installed locally, they are running well.
Windows XP Pro SP2, Localserver UNIFORMSERVER 3.2a (Apache 2.0.54, ActivePerl 5.8.7.813, PHP 5.0.4, MySQL 4.1.12a, phpMyAdmin-2.6.3-rc1)

I´ve read some posts and tried some of the answers. None of them solved my problem. All the problems are similar but not exactly the same.

Problem solved 
This might help others, didnt find this alternative here. None found on the forum worked for me 
Installed SMF on webserver. Copied the web DB, inserted it to local DB. Ran repair_settings.php and repair_paths.php, on local server. Deleted repair_settings.php, repair_paths.php and install.php from localserver.
Voila..
