Horzontal Resizing

I have a member who likes to make the SMF forum 1/2 of his screen and then watch tennis on the other 1/2 of his screen.  He was able to do this well before I upgraded to SMF 2.04.

His problem is that with SMF 1.x he could make the browser window (various browsers) as narrow as he liked and the forum just fit all the text on the screen without him having to scroll to the right to read it all.  Apparently SMF 2.0x is not allowing us to do that.

Is there a setting I can change to allow SMF to fit text per however wide the browser window is?
