Depends on what you want and what your server configuration is, unless you want to change just the action, and not make it a pretty link like site.com/calendar

I would want it to appear at mysite.com/forum/mynewurltocalendar

No, it wouldn't, actually.

There is little or no actual SEO benefit to having URLs be correct. It doesn't help search engines index you, it doesn't help them find your content any better.
