database and host passwords question

will changing my hosting password affect my database password and how smf connects to it in any way? i mean if i installed smf and input the old password? i would want my host and database passwords different and i only have a hosting account which allows me only 1 domain.

No it will not. As long as you did not use your old hosting password as your DB password for SMF.
