Can't install SimplePortal

When i trying to install SimplePortal i get the next error :

MySQL server has gone away
File: /public_html/forum/Packages/temp/install2.php
Line: 501

Please,i really need help!

Sorry, I wasn't sure if it was an SP issue or a SMF issue so I suggested the he try here first. He did however post a slightly different error at our site.
