Package problem

When I try to install any package on SMf v2.0 Rc4 I get the following error:
You cannot download or install new packages because the Packages directory or one of the files in it are not writable!
I Chmoded all files to 777 .Any ideea of what I can do?

do you have a temp folder in your packages folder?

I have : backups ; .htaacces ;admode.zip   ;index.php ; installed.list

please add a folder named temp as it does not seem to exist already.
