Activation email BLUES!

We've installed and erased SMF 1.0.5 twice and there's no way to make "Activation email" to work.

The users stay waiting for the "email" that never comes, the funny thing is this: it worked a few times.

We changed the DB prefix to use a single DB.

Our current SMTP settings used on SMF are:

Server SMTP: localhost
Port SMTP : 25
User SMTP: webmaster+mysite.com
Password SMTP: *********

BTW, the SMF Sendmail didn't work and I've read a lot of Activation posts.

All we get are variations of "You're not allowed..." or the fake illusion that "You'll get an email".

Please, can anyone tell me how can I set up SMF & SMTP to make it work?

Thank you,

PS:

Server SMTP: mysite.com

didn't work

My settings are:

mail type = Sendmail
SMTP server = mail.mysite.com
SMTP Port = 25
username = blank
password = blank

Works a treat :)

Are you using qmail for your sendmail server?

Any errors in the software's logs?

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

We're not using qmail.

I've changed to:

mail type = Sendmail
SMTP server = mail.mysite.com
SMTP Port = 25
username = blank
password = blank

Then, login out, login in (as Admin) the User and Password are not blank (?) but IT WORKS.

I hope that this time will last.

Glad you got it sorted n0n4me
