uploading a backup

Ok, Here is the problem. I had major problems and had to reinstall from backup. I use 000webh**t and had to delete my account and start from scratch. They gave me a new username and I can not access my db. I re upped my backup but I´m sure I need to make changes to gain access. Everything from my web backup and sql is current but where and what do I need to change to get smf talking to the db again?? If this post is in the wrong place, I´m sorry. Thanks in advance for all your help!

Have you used repair_settings.php?

I have downloaded that but not sure how to use it. Excuse my ignorance. Should I put that in my root folder and call it from my address bar?

Exactly. Upload it to the root of your forum, and visit repair_settings.php in your browser and go through the script.

Okay, I edited the settings manually for settings.php and all seems well.. I was just not sure about how to call it. I will mark this solved. Just wanna say everyone here is a huge help with very fast replies.. I thank you!
