1. That "bug" of yours is caused by SimplePortal. Seek support there.
2. Latest version is RC5 now. Upgrade, please.

Even though this is a SimplePortal issue, since I've seen this before, I'll go ahead and save you some trouble :)

To fix this, simply copy the portal.css stylesheet to your current theme.
