RC5 admin pages strange layout

I just installed RC5, but now the admin pages contents are displaying about a screen below where it showed in previous versions (RC3, RC4, 1.1, etc)

any suggestions?

that worked very nicely, even though it's strange since the core theme is not affected by this while all other themes are...
