When i try to install any packages it always says.....

An Error Has Occurred!

You cannot download or install new packages because the Packages directory or one of the files in it are not writable!

And i dont know what to do about it, if anyone could help me that would be awesome. Thanks

Bigguy

i did everything that it said but i just don't get it and i still doesn't work

You might want to check with your host about file/folder permissions, what they are and ownership of those files and folders to make sure they are owned by you the user and not apache.

Illori

also check that you have a temp folder in your packages folder.

Try creating a directory, inside your Packages one, named "temp".

That needs to be fully read/write enabled.

If you tell us which version of SMF you're using, we can move this to the relevant support board.
