Most them for RC3 or RC4 should work with version emulation.

hello there i myself had this predicament a while ago and i found out that the best one to use is SMFPacks shoutbox and Version Emulate it.

here is a step by step on what to do.

• download the zip folder
• go to your download packages page
• upload the package
• Go back to browse packages
• at the bottom click the text that says "advanced"
• change it from "SMF 2.0 RC5" to "SMF 2.0 RC3" and click apply
• install the mod
• REMEMBER TO GO BACK TO THE ADVANCED TAB AND SET IT BACK TO "SMF 2.0 RC5" AND APPLY IT THIS IS IMPORTANT

Very true, before you do anything at all - please make sure you have a backup of your files and database. Of course you should be doing that on a daily basis anyway.

Using this one on mine http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1319 and by going to advanced as stated above and change from RC5 to RC3.
