how to change name of child boards?

I how can I change the name of child boards to sub boards?

Admin > Configuration > Languages > Edit Languages > click on the name of your language > select General Strings from the dropdown in the bottom right corner of the screen, and you'll see a number of the language strings in use in SMF - find Child Boards and edit it, then hit save at the bottom.

Is there another way? I seem to can not find child boards when looking at the list.

The only other way is to edit a file directly whereupon you'll just have to find it manually anyway.

On that page, provided you selected General Strings, it's just over half way down on the left hand side, with a heading above it of 'parent_boards', you can use Ctrl-F in your browser to find it on the page for you.
