Hey,
Im using a theme given by my friend. The creator of this themes doesn't provide any support in English.
This is what im trying to remove (change),

Even though the theme is different, im hoping you would know the basics to edit something like this.

SMF Version: RC5

Thank you

The call to the $txt string would most likely be in index.template.php It's hard to tell with such a small screenshot, but it does look like it.

ill reupload a bigger pic so u can tell me for sure, than me trying random stuff and messing it up.

Matthew K.

Yep, index.template.php should contain that section.

desibees

I went to /public_html/Themes/MyTheme and went to index.template.php.
I Ctrl+F "welcome" and "Simple" and nothing came up.

I checked all other files in that folder as well. none worked.

I tryed - Settings.template.php, index.template.php, index.php, display.template.php, and boardindex.template.php

No solution  :'(

You want to attach it and I'll take a peak? Also provide a link to your forum please.

desibees

Sorry wait, what exactly do u want me to attach. all 5 files? and is it safe.

I just want you to attach index.template.php of your theme. It's definitely safe as long as you don't have any sensitive information in it, which you shouldn't unless you added any.

I removed the attachment for you, as I have already reviewed it.

<div class="topWelcome">', $txt['welcome_user'], '</div>
Should be it.

desibees

hodaan.. im confused.
what do I do with this? -- <div class="topWelcome">', $txt['welcome_user'], '</div>

where do i add/edit it?

Matthew K.

$txt['welcome_user'] will be in /languages

desibees

gah still very confused...  :-\
Rephrase it for complete beginners?

Matthew K.

Sorry for such a short and not very descriptive post. Try looking for $txt['welcome_user'], in index.english.php which will be in ./Themes/default/languages. That may contain the text you're wanting to change.

No problem, again, I apologize for the brief post earlier.

Wow, I didn't know you can do this, thanks.
