what mods to protect forum from bot (2.0 RC5)

I am using SMF v2.0RC5 and encounter lots of bot/spam post "selling medicine " in all of my boards. what mod is good to use to ovoid this problems?
What mod does this SMF forum use. so I can use too?

check out the mods here http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?action=search;type=19 . this forum uses very few mods, I dont know of any that are not in the core that are used in an attempt to stop spammers.

temporarily I am setting admin approved member option. Will this method help??

it can help but using the built in anti-spam feature of verification questions will make the job even easier on yourself.
