Automatic PM if new thread made

Ive done a quick search and havn't been able to find this yet.

I am looking for a mod that with automatically PM and specific usergroup when a new thread is made in a specific board/category. If it could include the following in the PM.

Date Of Creation:
Creator:
Subject:
Link:

Well, you can have it send an email on new topic out of the box, that's what the 'notify' option inside a board does but that's not automatic (it's opt-in). I know it's not quite what you asked for but in all honesty, I can't see this being added to SMF by default.

That might work. How do I go about enabling this. Where can I find it?

You go to the board in question and press the notify button at the bottom of the list of topics in it.

Okkkk that works for me, how do I apply it to a usergroup?

You don't. That's why I said it was opt-in, each person that wants it has to opt-in.

I agree with Arantor, I'm not sure adding notifications automatically for an entire membergroup (meaning bypassing user's choice) should be default behavior. Maybe asking for a mod would work best.
