Permission - View Who's Online not working when removed

I have a group that I removed the permission View Who's Online from.  I even set it as DENY and it continues to show who is online in the Stats area.  Are you aware of this not working and is there a fix?

They can still see who is online but they cant access the list of what these users are doing action=who
