How to set it so memebers have to activate their own account through email?

I have SMF 1.1.13 and was wondering how to make it so that a member who registers has to validate their email address?

go to admin / members / registration / settings / Method of registration employed for new members (?):


chose Member Activation


Member Activation
When this option is enabled any members registering to the forum will have a activation link emailed to them which they must click before they can become full members
