Board Reserved for administration

It would be nice if this forum had a board with the posting priviledges granted only to SMF administration,
where they would post the most important announcements (which are now buried under the hip of comments)

I noticed this forum. However each announcement has a tail of responses and looking at the board index
one sees not the date of the announcement but the date of the latest response. I meant something different:
board with no postings/responding priviledges for anyone but administration

For what purpose?  If it's only about the order, we use stickies for importance, and:
