possible to Upgrade to other directory?

At this moment my Yabb SE is installed in the root of my server. Because of a redesign of the website i have installed Mambo into a directory 'Frontpage' in the root. At this moment i want to install SMF into a directory called 'Forum'.
Is it possible to first install a fresh smf into the directory 'Forum' and after that upgrade the excisting Yabb SE and point the new fresh install to the upgrated 'old' database?

You can do that, using the YaBB SE converter.  Another way would be to upgrade in place, and then move all the files to the "forum" directory and use repair_settings.php to clean up your paths.  What is repair_settings.php?
