Hi,
I have a problem, when I want to login via mobile phone
via the index.php?wap2
interface.

It occurs only in one forum, which I have updated from 1.05 to 1.1b3

In a freshly installed other 1.1b3 forum I can login via my mobile phone
without problems.
I already cleared the whole cache and cookies on the wap browser
in my Sharp TM100 mobile phone, but this does not help.

What settings could I still try ?
Thanks.

Regards, Stefan.

P.S:Also if I modify the cookie name under admin-
Server Settings
I can not login via my mobile phone. hmm...

P.P.S:
Hi All,
would it be better to make a fresh install of the 1.1b3 version
tobe able to login via the mobile phone ?

How can I do this ?

Do I just have to delete all Files
in my forum webspace and only leave the Mysql database
as it is and tell the install script to use the old database ??

or would I need to change anything else in the install
procedure ??

P,S; I don´t use any mods in the 1.1b3 version.

Thanks.

Regards, Stefan

Hmm,
I just tried to login via my normal
PC webbrowser from home at my PC to login at:

http://www.overunity.com/index.php?wap2

and this does work !

So why doesn´t it work from my mobile phone ???

Thanks.

Regards, Stefan.

P.S.How do I modify the size of the outputted characters
on my mobile phone ?
How can I make the fonts much smaler ?
As my mobile phone has 320x240 display I would
like to have a much smaller font, so I can view more text on the display...
Can I modify somehow the mobile template.php ?

Where can I set the default Form text settings ?
When I want to type in my username it always comes
up with the Abc style function and my password begins with
small letters... hmm.-...

Well, I did tonight a whole new install of the SMF 1.1 public b3 version,
while leaving my SQL database alone.
So I just deleted all files ( exept the attachments folder) and
reinstalled all files in my root directory for the forum and
thus had a fresh install together with the old MySql database
of my www.overunity.com forum.

I tried this way to fix  the login Cookie error via the wap2 access:
http://www.overunity.com/index.php?wap2

But it did not work out.
Again this fresh installation always gives the error message:

"An error has occured ! You were unable to login. Please check your cookie settings."

As I also compared it with another fresh SMF 1.1 public b3 installation forum,
where I had only 1 board with 2 groups yet and no postings,
and did all the server and themes and template settings the same,
the other fresh install with the new database did NOT produce any
cookie login error !

So the error must be in the MySql database !

A temporary fix is this:
When the mobile phone browser displays this error message:
"An error has occured ! You were unable to login. Please check your cookie settings.",
I am instantly clearing the cookies in my mobilephone browser and
then just tell it to reload the page, and then it finally logs itsself in...

But this is pretty annoying, cause I have to use additional clicks and
setup of the mobile phone browser.

Also when I clear the cookies and
all the cache before loading the login-page on the phone browser,
it still displays this error...!

So somehow the MySql database of my overunity.com
forum must  be doing it wrong or be coruppted with the cookie usage..

Is there any way to fix my database with any tool for this cookie error ?

Many thanks.

Regards, Stefan.

I just also tried to additionally use the repair_settings.php script to
repair the  fresh installation.
There were some paths different , so I changed this and also I changed
the default cookie settings back to : SMFCookie11

But this also did not help.
The mobile phone does not want to login on the first try !

Is there still any other way to fix the Cooki login
problem via mobile phone ?
The circumvent fix I posted is really a bit annoying
and it would be nice to be able to login directly.

Any idea how to fix it  ? What I stil could try ?
Many thanks.

Regards, Stefan.
