PM notification

I want to make it more noticible on the forum if someone gets a PM than just a line of text changing.

I've seen this idea in other forums. It involves a red box appearing on the screen if you have a new PM.

This box would appear between where the user info and news box is and where the main forum bourds are.

In theory is it not possible to code in to the index.templat.php file after its done all the user info to draw a single cell table with backgroun red and text "You have new message(s)" if you have any new messages or something along those lines.

I liked atyour refering topic, its nothing like what the poster requested, and also I'm posting because I would also like a feature like this with a red box saying they have a new PM and its summary..

I beleive its IPB 2 which has this feature...
