Very slow in restoring my Database

Hiya,

In restoring my database from a backup it goes really really slowly. Uncompressed it's over 400 Mb.

I've ran "top" from the command line to watch the load on the server, and I notice a near 100% iowait time. Is this normal in restoring databases or is there something wrong with the server config. (The server has a 73Gb SCSI drive by the way)
