Annoying html thing

Is there anyway you guys could correct a little problem that has been bugging me ever since YSE1.0?

The profile column on the left of the topic
<=== this thing

doesn't appear to have a fixed width, causing some replies to jump out. It's making everything look very cluttered...

Yes, that has annoyed me too. The problem is, if someone has a big avatar, it will stretch the table even if it has a fixed width.

i think a max width of 100px or 120px is good for avatars

That should definitly be a mod or something implemented in the layout. A fixed maximum for the avatars, if they are bigger than the size, they will be resized to the maximum values.

that's already in YaBB.  It just resizes them though, they aren't scaled or cropped, they are just resized
