Prb with posts displayed in wrong topics

Hi all,

First of all, sorry for my poor english, hope it won't be a pain to solve my problem 

I am using SMF 2.0.2.

What's my problem ?

Sometimes (often...), some posts are displayed in wrong topics.
Don't know why and you imagine the problem when you're answering to a post and your answer appears in another topics !
It's a mess...

I'm searching for a long time for a solution but I didn't find anything...

Anyone has a magical solution ?

Yep, that's what I'm talking about

Although I don't see any mods that could affect the display of topics...
Can you attach your "Display.php" found in the "Sources" directory, here, in your next post?

Take your time, this problem is lasting for a long time

It's an old forum, lot of modifications, smf installed in 2007 etc...
sure there is a lot of mess there

Have you tried to use the maintenance task "Find and repair any errors"? (go to admin > maintenance > forum maintenance > routine)

I tried every maintenance admin tools with no success 

I think it's perhaps a prb between ids from ipb and ids from smf (migration a few years ago) but I'm not sure at all

Another question: does it happen with new posts as well, or only with old, pre-migration posts/topics?

it's only with new posts, not with old ones

so you write a post in a topic and instead of appearing in this topic, it goes elsewhere...

Stupid idea, no idea if this is anything related but do you have UTF-8 languages installed?

I feel it has something to do with a wrong id_topic or id_last_msg/id_first_msg (or id_board) somewhere, but to be sure a script to check these things is necessary.

Have you tried re-installing SMF? This is most likely not a bug with the default installation and something happened when trying to install or when you installed customizations.
