Buttons on the forum

It's fun to have buttons that do not use graphics, and were based on css

For example submit_bg.png - at home I did the same colors by itself without the css files.

I do not understand what is needed in this case this graphic

CSS is a more friendly and easier to edit the default style

I think so too. Hopefully by 3.x or maybe even 4.x of SMF, most images will convert into CSS styles.
