CAPTCHA not working

Hi to everyone.

After upgrade from ancient 1.1.8 to 1.1.16 CAPTCHA stopped working. When new user tries to register CAPTCHA image link appears broken.

Any ideas?

Just disable the whole captcha, bots have cracked it long ago. Try the verification questions mod with a few forum content related questions.

I know this isn't directly related to the topic, but just as a side-note I've found that the Anti-Spam Verification Questions mod is far more effective than CAPTCHA is.  CAPTCHA used to work well, but recently it's started letting numerous bots and spammers in.  I've had hardly any registrations from spammers since removing CAPTCHA and replacing it with Anti-Spam Verification Questions.  I also use the Stop-Spammer database just to make absolutely sure, but normally it doesn't even get that far.
