When I get to the end of the SMF installer (By the way, this is for 1.1), it says this:

"Sorry, a member is already registered with that username and/or password.

A new account has not been created.

Notice: Undefined variable: salt in  /public_html/forums2/install.php on line 869"

...Salt? I really have no idea what to do.

[Unknown]

That's a known, and already fixed, bug in the installer.  It only happens when a member already exists with the specified username.

Okay, I got past that, but the forum link only brings up my site's error page. Here's the link: http://www.rarea.zeeblo.com/forum/index.php [nofollow]

That is the link to my "old" 1.0.5 forum. Wait, could the problem be that I can't have two boards?

JayBachatero

you cant have two forum in the same database with the same prefix smf_

Well, this error message says it should be:

http://www.rarea.zeeblo.com/forums2/index.php

Which doesn't exist.  Do you see the directory through FTP?

Seems to work now?

Zeppelin

No, now I get this: "Unknown column 'a.attachmentType' in 'field list'"

Grudge

You haven't run upgrade.php
I'm only a half geek really...

Zeppelin

Where is that located?

[Unknown]

Well, that should be in the upgrade zip file.  Sounds like you're using an older or newer database with a different version of files.

Zeppelin

Where's the upgrade zip file? Sorry if I'm starting to sound a bit stupid.

I have the upgrade uploaded and permissions set, but when I run upgrade .php, I get this message:

"The upgrader found some old or outdated language files.

Please make certain you uploaded the new versions of all the files included in the package, even the theme and language files for the default theme.

Alexandre P.

Have you updated your language files using the ang. packs for SMF 1.1 Beta 3 Public, available from the downloads' page?

Now I have. I finally made it to the next step, but I get this:

" Updating ban system... Unsuccessful!
This query:

    SELECT ID_BAN_GROUP, restriction_type
    FROM smf_ban_groups
    ORDER BY ban_time ASC;

Caused the error:

Unknown column 'restriction_type' in 'field list'"

I'm geting closer to finishing at least, please help.

Zeppelin

Sorry to double post/bump, but I really need the help!
