Hello, I would like to know if it's possible in any way to convery my smf 1.1.16 forum to the lastest version of SMF 2??

If this is possible please explain how. If it's not possible is there any way that I can keep my ranks/topics??

Thanks.

Hi there,

You can do this. Just use a Large Upgrade package :)

Also, why did you attach a poll to this topic? ???

I automaticly do somehow. And I MUST fill it in to post this topic lol.

Ok but where can I find this large update pack? I have been looking for it but am I just blind? lol.

EDIT: Do I just need to download the latest 2.0 and upload it as a package?

Which file do I have to download and what do I need to do with it?

What FTP client/file manager are you using?

Where are you trying to upload it? You need to either upload it and unzip it through cPanel's file manager, or extract the files to your computer and upload them via FTP. You can't upload it through the package manager.

That's a topic which I also like to know an answer for.

I can't remember why I've chosen 1.1 about a year ago, but I can see that 2.02 does have much more options.

Why are there 2 versions in first place??

Anyhow, I'm seriously afraid to do that switch and loosing my data, members etc.

Is that a safe process in this respect? If I backup my data, can I easily restore the "old" version?

Thanks
