Forum switch over- need to 'uncustomise'!

Hi,

I presume this will be the right place to ask these questions.

Basically I have moved my forum away from our developer to take control over everything myself- including the website. I have got it up and running of a fashion, but he has customised the files to look like our previous website. Where do I find where he has done this? Which files should I be looking at?

For a temporary fix so our forum users don't experience too much down time, I have slung what I have got in an iframe on our site. As the new site has a vertical spry menu bar located in a sidebar to the left, along with headers and footers, can I have the forum out of an iframe and customise it to look like our site. I know you can with headers and footers- but can I with the sidebar?

Thanks for your help and sorry if they are daft are questions, I am on a very steep learning curve at the moment!

If you want to get your forum to a kinda "Vanilla" state, it's fairly simple.

Just get the large upgrade http://download.simplemachines.org/index.php?thanks;filename=smf_1-1-16_upgrade.zip dearchive the files and upload them to your site (Except upgrade.php), overwriting what's there, now.

Then, you can set about customising everything as you want to.
