image attachments shown on a potal page

I have a site that is using an smf forum  as the backend and everything is working perfectly except in firefox the images that are attached to the post won't show.

The same code works in IE.

all i'm using is code like this

But if I then go to the forums the same address does show an image up.

i don't think it is permissions since it works in IE.

Any ideas?

It turns out it is permissions...

I have the posts that are on the main page coming from and admin only board which is making the images not show up to anyone other than admins.

Would removing the isallowedto check for viewing attachments cause any security issues other than being able to see attachments with a direct link?
