Hi Guys. This question is about adding code into the default theme. I do not wish to use mod packages as I always have problems installing.

I want to add adsense in several places.

1 at the top of the home page of the forum
2. At the top of the list of topics in every board
3.at the top of every topic.

What are the specific files i need to look at ? Is there a header file I can edit ?

1. index.template.php
2. MessageIndex.template.php
3. Display.template.php

Thanks MArcus,

Ive sort of got it working. However it seems to want to display an advert in every forum post rather than just the first one. Once 3 google ads show it leaves a blank banner in every other post, which pushes the actual post down..

Is there a way to display an advert in only the first post of each topic ??

Ah, sorry, I cant use mods as I have major issues with getting them to install. Its been like that for several years. Must be somehow linked to my hosts but any package I try to install either throws errors, or installs then doesnt work, hence I need to manually insert the code :
