SMF2 num_replies miscalculation

Sorry if I can't provide much info...
Note: Using SMF 2.02 without any mods installed + PHP5 + MySQL5.

Basically after my moderators deleted ~20posts in a topic, the actual number of posts in the topic was (num_replies) 16 instead of 22, (23 total posts).
With "20 messages per page", I could see the 20 first messages, yet the 2nd page was not available as the number of pages is calculated by num_replies.

I've seen this bug happen before on other topics but didn't investigate.

I have few questions for you, here they are:
How where the posts deleted?
One by one?
Quick moderation checkboxes?
Quick moderation icons?
From one or more user profiles?
From the moderation center?
Do you have post moderation on?
In that case were none, some of or all the messages deleted still unapproved?
The moderators are board moderators, global moderators or did you create a special group with specific permissions? (if the latter what permissions exactly?)

For now that's all that comes to my mind, depending on your answers I may have more questions.
