I'm on SMF 2.0.2, and I tried to install http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1319 and then http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1295

Both gave me the error: "The package you are trying to download or install is either corrupt or not compatible with this version of SMF."

The package says compatible with :2.0 RC1, 2.0 RC1-1, 2.0 RC1.2, 2.0 RC3

What are the RC numbers? Can I check if something is wrong?

RC = Release Candidate

Have a look at the Mod Emulate link in my signature.

same thing?

Yup. I moved the Forum from one site to another not too long ago, and didn't think to do it properly... just copied the files over and exported and imported the sql databases, so that might be causing problems.

What are the drawbacks to version emulation?

What do I put in the emulation version number box for the ajax chat?

Try RC5 or RC4

Like actually just "RC5" or "RC4" ?

Oops no sorry 2.0 RC4

Said something about security flaws in 2.0 RC4. I tried installing the package it said fixed the flaws, but it gave me errors...

Robert.

You do not have to install the security patch, as you are using SMF 2.0.2 :) It just thinks you are using SMF 2.0 RC4 due version emulation. Just install the mod you want to install and emulate back to SMF 2.0.2. :)
