Hello there!

Two and a half months after we announced that we were adding the ST (senior translators) and NLSS (Native Language Support Specialist) groups to our translation and moderation team, I would like to say a few more words about Localization in general.

Today, we added the first few members to the ST group and, now, we're working hard on choosing the best members for our NLSS group, which is ready as well. Our goal is to bring these groups together and to improve Localization by delegating authority between ST, translators, LM and NLSS members.

At this moment, the Localization team have translators, language moderators, senior translators and native language support specialists under it's umbrella - precisely 182 translators and 34 language moderators who're doing their best to help SMF have quality language support. We currently have 27 individual language packs totally (100%) translated and about 10 languages with completed translation, for both 1.1.x and 2.x branches! Also, we have more than 50 translated wiki pages (and more unofficial ones) thanks to our wiki translators!
We have 78 languages in our base, and about 45 public language packs on our download page.
Our translators have done an impressive job, so far - about 480.587 translated entries, just through our Language Editor, plus the one they translated on local machines and just uploaded to our server!

I want to send a big "Thank you!" to all of our current and former translators, language moderators and anyone who contributed to this project and helped SMF to became what it is today - forum software with some of the best language support!

P.S. As we're always in search for more translators, feel free to contact us, if you think that you can help!

Congratulations to everyone involved in the translation work.  I know how much hard work translation can be, and how time consuming it is.

I actually view this board in Spanish (my first degree is in Spanish), and the translation work is exceptionally well done for the Spanish language version of SMF.  I've only come across one minor error (which I reported), and it has helped me to improve my vocabulary for certain forum functions in Spanish which I didn't previously know.

I'd help out with translation, but between my PhD, and moderating on another forum, I simply don't have the time.  I just wanted to show my appreciation for all the work that has been done in this area, as I believe that development of languages other than English is a very important area for SMF to continue to work on.

This seriously makes SMF one of the most translated projects on the interweb. Congrats to the team :)

Looking forward to the new initiative.
