smf not sending emails

its been a good while since i had to mess with the setting up of a server, but i recently changed vps companies and everything is coming together fine except for the fact that my forums and stuff cant send mail to users, etc.

what does smf need to send emails?

By default SMF sends emails using PHP send_mail, but it can use SMTP as well. This wiki post should help http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/Why_are_members_not_getting_emails_sent_from_the_forum

is php send mail a default part of php or something extra. it worked for so long and now im having to rebuild it on a different server and it has presented me a few different issues. lol

i got this resolved, i just needed to go back through the postfix config to fix it.
