If i have installed a theme can I modify it and call it mine? If I have practically changed every aspect except the basic structure. Not a single original image remains, then can I call it my own theme? And if I can, how can I change the 'designed by.....' in the theme maintenance area of the admin?

thanks

You must always give a credit to the author if you didn't specially take permission from him/her... To do that change you should edit the theme_info.xml file that comes with the original theme...

you should still leave a curteosy copyright intact for the original author. Images are the easiest part of making a theme.

In fact, you should probabally get the authors permission before calling it your own. And you *must* get his permission if you intend to redistribute it.

Hello, I have a different question...but along the same line.

I have 2 themes.
1 for my dial-up users.
1 for my broadband users.

But when the person goes to choose the theme...
I'd like the theme's name to read: "BroadBand" and "DialUp"

I want to leave all the copyright info intact.
So the author still gets credit...just would like to rename the theme.

lol!

Yes...but how..

Do I have to code it in?
Or is doing it in the admin panel enough?
