I have an issue with my forum "Find and repair any errors". Anytime, I attempt to use it, it shows lots of errors fouling up my forum. I did fix them but to my surprise, nothing happened. Because if run "Find and repair any errors", the same sets of errors show up.

I have searched the forum for similar issue if exist but could not find any. Please help! Thankss.

kat

I tried the zillions of links that you have under your avatar and in your sig, to see if I could figure-out which version of SMF you're using, so that I could move this to the relevant support board.

I gave up after the first two thousand, or so. :(

Also the type of the errors you are getting could help.

Take a peek at what I'm doing! ;D

I use SMF 2.0.2 (http://www.theinfostrides.com/index.php?action=credits).

Also the type of the errors you are getting could help.

1. When I go to Forum Maintenance ---> Find and Repair any errors ---> Run task now.

2. Several lines of errors shown up such as mission subject, topic non-existence etc...

3. I fixed the errors

4. To my surprise, similar set of errors re-occur. At times, they won't show but at times they show.

I will post it when it re-occur. The error is somehow intermittent. Thanks.

That's the worst type of bugs: the random ones.

Let's wait for more details as soon as the errors show up again. ;)

You are right! That was why I kept watching it before making this post. I will update as soon as it re-occur. Thanks.

So, you repaired them and then you checked again (just after the repair) and there are still there?

The repair was done successfully but after a while when the process is run, the same errors shown.

Humour me, would you?

I seriously doubt this, I have to confess. But, can you try emptying your forum's cache and try killing those errors, again?

I'm wondering if your forum's pulling that crap from the cache, somehow.

Although, I could be talking total bollox. ;)

emanuele

Can you list all the mods you have installed?

I did clear the cache and confirmed from the folder. The errors still surfaced.

The topics do not exist. I deleted most of them from the database through PHPMyAdmin. Could that be responsible for the issue?

Ohh, you have most likely found the issue.

If you have deleted only the topics (and the messages) you have missed several other places where topics informations are kept and that most likely foul the maintenance task.

Out of curiosity: why did you delete the topics from the database instead of use the tools provided by SMF?

What can I do to resolve the issues?

Recently, I had some issues with Google on some words. I had to remove all posts with such words from the database.
