It's the simplest implementation of a bulletin board for your forum.

How to use this mod

• Just select any category or specify any board on your forum where users will be posting their ads.
• Every board within this category will be an advertising section.
• Every topic within boards in this category will be an advertising message.
• Every first image (that attached in topic) will be as a thumbnail on the advertising table.

I installed on my test forum...

I enabled...

I set for General Forum to test.

General forum still looks like... general forum?  What am i doing wrong?

Did you try go to ?action=bbs

OK... I see how this works... I was under the assumption it changed the way the forum looked if you go to the specific forum board... I did not realize that there was a new menu selection on the main menu that shows the forum in questions post in a different format.   I guess i assume it changed the way the forum category itself looks...

There is a theme that changes just one or two boards but leave the rest as normal?

It's possible. Just go to Admin -> Forum -> Boards - select a board ("Modify") and select board theme for it

Hi FrizleFried Would you explain how you managed to get this mod working please. I've installed it successfully but it's only showing on the top page menu under Announcements, when I click on it there's just an ordinary posting box.

I've even downloads 'Custom Action Mod' in order to make sure that I'm enabling ?action=bbc. I then see the place ads box but it wont let me post an ad.

Hi and thanks for this mod.

Can you tell me if it's possible to set it so that members can see the attachements from the 'Bulletin Board' page please?

I can see them as admin but neither the moderators or members can see them.

I would like everyone to see them.

I have checked permissions etc but can find nothing

Having problems with the thumbnails. I login as a regular member and the thumbnails on the listing screen do not show but when I log in as admin the thumbnails show. I have the attachment permissions set on for members to upload and view...is there another permission somewhere I'm missing? Im uploading pics below:

That works great for members! Any way to allow guest to see the thumbnail? I have permissions set for guest to see attachments and they can see the thumbnail inside the post but not on the classifieds listing page. Thanks a lot for the help and the mod!

It should work for guests too, check permissions.

Thanks you helped me figure it out. I had that checked for guest to view attachments but I had added a new profile for that board called "approval" and I forgot to change the permissions for guest for that new profile. Thanks again!

Hi , good morning. Thanks for the mod. It's posible to move the column of 'Thumbnails' between the colum 'forum' and the column 'topic'? The listing will looks like this

Combine this with a few mods and features and you have a full system

Points:
1- This seems to work with SMF 2.1 RC3

2- I kinda wish you could specific just a single board rather than a whole category....   I know that I can move the single board into a single category -- but it looks less clean on the index.

3- in combination with the Custom Form mod to create a clean, default look to the display

4- In combination with a forced theme for each of the listings boards -- this would allow you to define a different look/feel for posts in those board.

The "select board ID" is greyed out and won't let me select...

and then, of course, when going to the listings index,

I've been using this on my main 2.0.18 forum as an event listing and I was wondering if/how I can change the date from the posting date to the actual event date? Or if someone's using it for classifieds, to change the posting date to the actual sale date or whatever, or just a simple way to change the posting date?

Post date is used by and for alot of things in smf code. Don't mess with it

I'm running this on 2.1RC4 and seems to be no problems other than the author box needs to be resized. It has those left & right arrow buttons. Where can I find the code to edit that? (See attachment)

I've been trying to figure this out but I'm not getting anywhere!
I searched for the elements but couldn't find any that match! Could you or someone help? I just want to resize the Author column to get rid of those arrows. Thanks

Normally, if a mod is compatible with SMF version 2.1.x, it will also be compatible with version 2.1.y, if y > x. In difficult cases, you can always try to install a mod in emulation mode with the version of SMF with which it is declared to work.
