Hi,

I just installed SMF 1.0.5 via Fantastico and everything does seem to working!

However, I did notice that the instructions for performing a manual install mention that:

The following files need to be CHMOD'ed to 777.

attachments
avatars
Packages
Packages/installed.list
Packages/server.list
Smileys
Themes
agreement.txt
Settings.php
Settings_bak.php
install.php
Themes/default/languages/Install.english.php
[/i]

But, I checked these with an FTP client and they all are set at 755.
Should I manually change them to 777?

Also, I have a few other questions but I'll hold off for now :-\

If you can upload attachments and you don't have any problems, leave them as they are.

If you have problems with uploading attachments, installing packages or themes, or changing settings, you will need to change their permissions.
