Strange effect when placing HTML in posts.

Ok if I send someone a link or something in HTML in my post on my forum such as

<a href='http://jrsofty.stinkbugonline.com/'><img src='http://jrsofty.stinkbugonline.com/affiliate/jrmini.gif'></a>

The HTML disappears leaving me nothing the above line would come out as this:

(nothing displayed)

without the (nothing displayed) part.


This happens in the IM as well as normal posts. Is this normal?

I'm not sure I understand what you're getting at.  Raw html is removed - you have to use bbcode in your posts.

I don't want to use HTML I want to display HTML. For example I want to show someone how to do something in HTML or I need to pass them a link code for affiliation to my site.

If you look at my first post in this topic you see where I entered a link and the HTML is displayed as regular text. When I attempt that on my board when I hit preview OR submit the HTML is removed completely and not displayed as plain text.

Even when I put it inside of code tags it does this.
