Settings.php changes

I was looking to see if there is an inbuilt routine which could import a new version of Settings.php and keep a record of the version changes. No expectations it is easy to do with usual tools but if there is an inbuilt mechanism I amy as well use it!

You can make a backup of your old Settings.php and rename it to something else.  Settings_bak.php pretty much takes care of that though.

What is repair_settings.php?
