Transfered files over to a new server...now forums do not work

Well this is my situation.  I have been hosting a combination of mkportal and smf forums on my website - recently, I have decided to dedicate a whole website to a section of my website LOL

This is what I did to transfer the smf and mkportal files
1) download both the mkportal and smf files to my computer
2) download all sql tables for both of those things

3) upload all the files - both portal and forums
4) upload the sql tables to a new website's server
5) update the settings.php file of the forums according to new settings

now, the portal is working, but the forums arent....for some reason when I try and open up the forums, all it is is just a blank page saying "index" - thats all there is to it.....

the number of posts is also messed up, but the members and everything else seems to have transfered fine.....

would anyone know a fix to this problem

What is repair_settings.php?

Run that tool to fix the url's and directories for SMF.

i just did that...still having the same problem

Run that tool again and use all the recommended values and it should work just fine.
