Name: Classified ;)
Age: 34
Location: Hertfordshire, UK
Quote: 'A swansong of rare and vanishing beauty'
Position: Doc Writer Doc Coordinator

  • Do you have pets?
Nope, I'm allergic to anything with fur, so I can't join the SMF cat lovers club, and crocodiles aren't allowed as pets apparently.
  • What is your favourite colour?
I can't choose just one.  Red, purple, yellow, and orange are all favourites.
  • What kind of music do you like?
A very mixed bag.  Pop music of all sorts of types, as well as classical.  I can be listening to a 'cello piece at one moment, and then switch to Roxette.  Eclectic probably sums it up :D.
  • What do you do in your free time besides spending time on SMF?
I moderate other forums.  I'm also now working on trying to publish part of my PhD thesis.
  • What are your goals/dreams in life?
To finish my PhD, never do any research ever again, and become a full time university language tutor.  Two achieved, one still to go :).  A bit of a re-think here, as to get into the university system I'm going to have to publish something.  To make my dream a reality, it's time to jump through some more hoops.
  • What got you involved in SMF?
I had previously managed a phpBB forum, been a regular user on a Vbulletin forum, and then signed up to a number of fora which used SMF.  I found SMF to be my favourite type of forum software, did some hunting around to find out more information, and ended up here.
  • Who do you admire? Why?
The Spanish teachers at school, and Spanish university lecturers who taught me on my undergraduate degree.  They were inspirational in shaping who I am today.  I also admire my parents for always being there.
  • Are you into sports?  If so which ones?
I like watching Formula 1 and listening to cricket.
  • What is your dream job?
Spanish language tutor. University tutor of either politics or Spanish, or maybe even both.
  • What was your first screenname?
    Irisado.
  • Do you have any piercings?
    No.
  • Are you a lefty/righty or ambidextrous?
Mostly right handed, but my left hand can do a few things, such as removing screw on lids, better than my right.
  • Do you have any tattoos?  If not do you wish/plan to get one?
    No and no.
  • Do you have any siblings?  If so, how many of each?
    No.
  • What is your favourite website?
    40K Online and this one.
  • Do you play computer games?  If so, which ones?
Not many.  Skyrim and the Fallout series are the only ones I play.
  • Do you play video game consoles?  Which ones?
    No.
  • Are you married or planing to get married?
    No.
  • If so do you have any kids?
    N/A
  • How many kids?
    N/A
  • How many languages do you speak?  If so which ones?
Three if English counts ;).  Apart from English, Spanish, and some rather rusty Italian.
  • Do you drink?
    No.
  • Do you smoke?
    No.
  • Did you play hookey from class?
    Never.
  • Do you have a license?
Assuming this means a driving license, yes.
  • Do you own a car?
    No.
  • Have you ever been stopped for speeding?
    No.
  • Do you obtain a good amount of sleep daily?
I used to, but not any more.  I'm starting to get back into better sleeping habits.
  • How do you sleep?
Badly.  Much better these days :).
  • Have you ever been on an aeroplane?
Yes, and I've got more frightened every time I've done so.  This is no longer the case.  I was much better on my last plane trip.
  • Have you ever broken a bone?
    Yes, my collar bone.
  • Do you wear jewellery?  If so what jewellery do you wear?
    No.
  • How do you dress?
    Informally.
  • How many keys are on your keyring?
    Eight.  Down to five now.
  • What time do you go to bed?  What time do you wake up?
Varies, although I am starting to go to bed earlier and get up earlier on a gradual basis.
  • What's the freakiest thing you have done?
Tumbling out of control down a ski slope was pretty freaky.  I never want to experience that again.
  • Do you live alone?
    Yes.
  • How many hours a day do you spend in front of the computer?
Lots of them, but not as many as before.
  • How many hours a day do you spend in SMF?
Not too many.  Four or five perhaps.  It's on the rise though.  I tend to lose count some days, but it definitely rose to quite a few until recently.
  • What is your favourite beverage - coffee, tea, soda, beer, other?
    Water.
  • What do you hate?
The obsession with the commercialisation of higher education and universities.  People who take decisions based on fear, ignorance, prejudice, and/or xenophobia, rather than based on acceptance, hope, inclusiveness, and the facts.
  • What do you love?
Coastal walks in watery sunshine and walks in the park.
  • What is your religion?
    None.
  • What is your hair colour?
    Light brown.
  • How tall are you?
    About 6'2"
  • How much do you weigh?
    No idea.
  • What's the feature on SMF you can't live without?

    • As an administrator?
      Moderation tools of all types.
    • As an end user?
      The reply button  :D.

Thanks for reading.  If you have additional questions, I may answer them ;).

Yep, we're pretty close when I go back home, although I don't think that I've actually ever been to your neck of the woods.  Not that I remember at any rate.

I don't usually nag people, but I do nag Kindred sometimes in another place :D.

Thanks for the welcome all :).

I did Latin...

In English-English, "Fora" was/is the correct term, viz-a-viz the Latin. But, as usual, our delinquent colonial upstarts couldn't cope, with that, just as they can't cope with "Radii"...

Congrats!

What is the engine block size of a 1967 Plymouth Barracuda?  ;D

No, I will not offer free downloads to Premium DzinerStuido themes. Please stop asking.

No matter, that club is much too big already! :P

I bet you're not refering to Apocalyptica there :P
Bach, perhaps?

The obsession with the commercialisation of higher education and universities.

It has it's pros and cons, I guess.

nahh... j/k...

And the plural of cactus is cacti. My spell checker agrees.

kat

Sure is!

"Cactuses" just sounds daft. Mind you, so does "Radiuses" and "Forums", to me.

Bach, perhaps?

That would be correct :P.

Bach's cello music is good background music.  I'm more of an Elgar's Cello Concerto type person.

As a hobby, it's fun, as a 'job' it's dreadful :P.

Yes.

I'm very bad at lying, but I am very good at sidestepping questions :D.

99 percent cons in my opinion.

English is not a romance language. English is a Germanic language - so insisting on silly latin or greek conguations is just plain silly....

A Germanic language which has stolen a whole raft of Latin words :P.

Forums is technically the correct version when discussing the online version, which is why I use it when writing the wiki, but I personally using fora in my own posts ;).  Note that the fora is, however, correct in the context of Ancient Rome :D.

I have, yes :).

I haven't been for a long time though, since I don't have the time, and I also don't enjoy flying.

I went to Vigo, many yonks back. Majorca, too. (Pity the Brits have ruined a lot of that place)

I'm reliably informed that Mallorca is still very pleasant in land.

I was based in Salamanca, which has very impressive architecture, and lots of White Storks.  It was a very hot summer though, which things pretty tough for me towards the end.  I'm not a fan of the high temperatures.
