The Wiki Translators Group
« on: October 01, 2013, 11:46:18 AM »
The Documentation Team is looking for interested members of the forum to join the newly created Wiki Translators Group.  If you have a good command of English, and are a native speaker of one of the foreign languages supported by the wiki, or are a native English speaker with exceptional skills in one of the foreign languages, then this may well be the group for you.

Please note that you must have ten or more posts to be able to edit the wiki, and must also have followed and read this link, in order to make sure your wiki account has been created before you can join the Wiki Translators Group.

Assuming you meet the criteria above, you can apply for membership of this group.  To apply, please send your display name and your username to documentation [at] simplemachines.org, stating which language(s) you would like to translate.

A Note on Google Translations:

Please be aware that automated translations, such as Google translate, and similar software are not to be used when translating the wiki.  They are unreliable, often producing incorrect and incoherent translations, so please ensure that translations are your own.

Thank you, D_A_X. I see that you've brought the Spanish page about Personal Messages up to 100%. That page is looking really good now.

Do you have time to work on a few other pages? Some of them are already at about 80%: Spanish wiki stats

Off course. I'll translate all I can. These days are busy days for me, but, I hope I'll have free time next week to continue translating wiki.

I still would love to translate some small parts, where I feel fit, into German  :)

I have "got a great that you like to join us message" ("We have even great tools" teaser email) about one month, or two ago, but maybe there was a lot to do, that no replay followed to my replay. Ohh this cookies.

Just let me know.  :)

I didn't know, thanks for informing. No problem from our side. We are alsways happy if we can do something. Maybe that is also the reason why this little gift of one member of our community did not reach you:

So even later, it should not be to missed to give:

"Contributing to SMF couldn't be easier!" avaliable in more languages

Its also not direct wiki, but I guess a most important page selection for SMF.

So if you like us to make some works, we would be honored if you accept this offer.

I'm willing to translate everything possible to Albanian language.
I really enjoy SMF, so i would love to help out.

Also i'm sorry about the posts count since i lost my old SMF account and i'm unable to get it, i hope that won't be a problem since i'm going to become active on the forum once again.

If you want help with retrieving your old account, you could ask an administrator to help you :).  If you want to help out with translation of the wiki, please read the instructions in the first post for details of what to do.

There is a problem because the account i used it too old and i was always loged in to it because of the "saved cache", but now that i have made a format i don't remember the email i used aswell as the account name. Pretty bad eh!

since we have a 10 post minimum requirement as explained in the first post, there is not much we can do at this time to help you gain access to translate the wiki.

Reading the first post might help...
To assume is to hope that those who came before had the presence of mind and capacity to implement the dreams of those who would come after.
