Knowledge Base/Article Type System

Is there a modification that allows for a Knowlege base system, or article system to be installed...Or is there a Integratable system that will accomplish the same thing?

The question is, would anyone be willing to take this up and give coding it a try?...I would like something like it obviously(why I posted the topic), but I think this could also be a useful mod for the community.

The mambo integration is pretty close to what you are looking for. There would be a little bit of editing of mambo needed if you just wanted an articles system but it is easily possible.

This Online Manual might serve as an Articles System.
I am not sure you could run this on the same website and your SMF forum though.
Of course, you would want one user login for both, not sure that is possible either.

This may sound stupid, but what's wrong with boards?
I mean, for any type of problem (example Windows Operated Systems) you can create and call a board like that, so that all topics for Windows Operated System will be in there...

It should come pretty close to what you would like to have...

There is a big difference between just posts in a forum and an Articles section.

If they were the same, why would http://docs.simplemachines.org/index.php have been created ?  Why not just make a forum ? 

I need my articles to be highlighted on my site and making them just another forum post doesnt do the work justice.

Glad you asked this question. I have a back burner project I want to get back to and try to deploy in the next few months and something like this would fit very well if I could integrate seamlessly with a forum.
